My Favorite Singer!
The Portland Civic Theatre Guild presented "A Marvelous Party" this morning at the Old Church. This was a staged musical presentation of the music of Noel Coward and Kurt Weill. This musical treat featured 4 excellent singer/performers including my favorite singer, Miss Meredith Weber. The 75 minute set moved quickly through over a dozen familiar tunes delivered capably and energetically by the cast.
As I was enjoying the music, all I could think of was, "damn, there is a bunch of talented people in this town".
